Sainte-Barbe Festival 2026: Fire Arts in the Mining Basin

📅 27 November to 6 December 2026
📍 Lens, Liévin, Loos-en-Gohelle, Oignies (mining basin)

The Sainte-Barbe Festival returns for its 9th edition in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais mining basin. Around 4 December, the day of Sainte-Barbe, patron saint of miners, the region lights up with fire shows, artistic performances and fiery processions.

Highlights take place at UNESCO-listed mining heritage sites: the Jean Perrin faculty in Lens, the 9-9bis site in Oignies, the 11/19 base in Loos-en-Gohelle, and the Louvre-Lens for the 2026 finale. The festival is free and open to all.

A spectacular heritage event not to be missed.
